At The Melbourne Hotel

Liam's by the payphone, waiting for a girl to call
Don's singing songs by Bob Seger till he passes out against the wall
Lena's cooking in the kitchen when Alison walks by
I swear that I'd give my right arm
if she'd just once give me the eye

Just once at the Melbourne Hotel
At the Melbourne Hotel
if these walls could talk they'd have some stories to tell
at the Melbourne Hotel

The payphone finally rings but it is not his call
he just says something in broken Spanish then hangs it back up on the wall
Lena's sitting at the table clicking her spoon
and Alison, Oh Alison, steps back into her room

At the Melbourne Hotel
At the Melbourne Hotel
if these walls could talk they'd have some stories to tell
at the Melbourne Hotel

Sometimes days will turn to hours, sometime hours turn to days
time can be misunderstood so many different ways
sometimes a lifetime is the blink of an eye
and there's just a few things that I'd like to see before I die

Me, I'm on the furniture plucking my guitar
singing little love songs and thinking about me and her
Lena stops to listen, eyes as big as a child's
and Alison steps into the hall and flashes me a smile

Just once at the Melbourne Hotel
Just once at the Melbourne Hotel
if these walls could talk they'd have some stories to tell
at the Melbourne Hotel
