Angeline
Words and music by Torey Adler © 2003

Sitting on the dock, low tide running out
Facing the ocean, suffering drought
Watch the boats go by up on their high horses
See the captains at the wheels, plotting courses
Angeline comes 'round the corner
Painted red and green she looks ok
She could take me out to the farthest reaches
I could ride on Angeline all day
I don't need no roadmap, I don't need no guiding star
I don't need a compass
To tell the way things are
But if there's one thing which I wish I'd never seen It's Angeline

Deep in the doldrums as a man could get
I went out fishing on a tranquil sea
Something went wrong along the way
And there aint no bottom here as far as I can see
And the sun is gently setting
As Angeline goes down
There's not a ripple on the surface
It's getting darker all around I don't need no roadmap,
I don't need no guiding star I don't need a compass
To tell the way things are
But if there's one thing which I wish I'd never seen It's Angeline

The pressure's getting stronger
On my skin
The sky is silver Gotta stay with Angeline
I don't need no roadmap, I don't need no guiding star
I don't need a compass
To tell the way things are
But if there's one thing which I wish I'd never seen It's Angeline
